About Sarah
A Little More About Me...
Sarah and Magee
Sarah was born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and started riding at the age of eight. Now, with over forty years of riding and showing experience, she combines her love of horses with her passion for quilting. Sarah is very creative and has a great eye for color and pattern. This talent, key to good quilting, led to her interest in this craft which she has pursued for over 20 years. Her repertoire of pieced and appliquéd quilts ranges from the traditional to the contemporary.
The unique show ribbon quilts Sarah creates began with her desire to assist a friend searching for a way to display her ribbons. Horrified at the thought of a glue-gun solution, Sarah came to the rescue and designed and stitched her first ribbon quilt. Now, a long time later, Sarah has completed hundreds of quilts for riding enthusiasts across the United States.
Raleigh Winter Classic
Sarah’s ribbon quilts offer a unique and stunning way to display all of your favorite ribbons. Working off a basic template of her own design, Sarah will consult with you to ensure that your most important riding memories are incorporated. Your ribbons are then pieced together to form the basic blocks and border of the quilt, with hand picked rosettes adding the finishing touch.
Many of Sarah’s customers are interested in her current riding activity. She is the proud owner of Nobska Point, a 17.2 warm-blood cross gelding named after a famous lighthouse less than a mile away from her childhood home. Magee, as he is known around the barn, is a big mischievous guy who loves oranges and orange soda as much as the traditional apple and carrot. They are currently showing in the Amateur Owner Division.
